Recycled Gold & RJC
NEVA LIMITED, one of China’s largest jewellery manufacturers operating today, is proud to declare that all in-house manufactured karat gold products are cast from gold bars certified as refined from 100% recycled gold scrap sources*. This is a significant step in demonstrating that ethical consumer choices can be attainable by the industry, and our strive towards sustainable manufacturing practices. Gold from recycled scrap sources means a reduced reliance on potentially destructive mining activities, and a way to bring renewed life to this precious metal that was otherwise discarded.
Our gold refiner is certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) against their Code of Practices (CoP) and Chain-of-Custody (CoC) standard for the supply of precious metals. Each gold bar that we use comes with RJC documentation to certify the recycled content. With this transition, NEVA will no longer normally stock regular gold for manufacturing purposes.
The Responsible Jewellery Council is an international not-for-profit standards and certification organisation. It has more than 700 member companies that span the jewellery supply chain from mine to retail. RJC Members are independently audited against the RJC Code of Practices – an international standard on responsible business practices for diamonds, gold and platinum metals. The Code of Practices addresses human rights, labour rights, environmental
impact, mining practices, and many more important topics in the jewellery supply chain.
*Depending on the construction and components used in your specific design, some individual parts in your product might not be of recycled origin if they
were supplied externally by one of our trusted global partners and vendors.
NEVA is committed to sourcing materials from companies that share our values regarding human rights, ethics and environmental responsibility. Following Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (“the Dodd-Frank Act”), NEVA supports the same humanitarian goals in ending the illegal trade of conflict minerals originating in the DRC. These include columbite-tantalite (coltan; i.e., tantalum); cassiterite (i.e., tin); wolframite (i.e., tungsten); gold or their derivatives.
NEVA are therefore committed to:
