Recycled Content FAQ

“Is there any quality difference between gold or silver that has been mined vs non-mined?”

— No. There is no quality, performance, or compositional difference between the two. Only the source of the metal is different.

“Does this mean the whole product you manufacture is made from 100% recycled content?.”

— No. Only parts cast in-house can be considered as being made from 100% recycled karat gold/silver. Externally sourced parts (chains/clasps) are excluded.

“What about your other products manufactured from other metals i.e. brass?.”

— While the copper used in our brass grains is of non-mined sources, full 100% recycled content certification is not yet available.

“Why have you decided to make this change?”

— Increasing consumer awareness on the potential destructive impact that mining can have on the environment means topics such as ethical sourcing and production are no longer restricted to niche eco-friendly brands. NEVA are driving this change with the gradual elimination of mined virgin metals in our products.

“Where does your karat gold and fine silver come from?”

— Our recycled karat gold and fine silver are supplied by some of the world’s largest refineries of precious metals, serving as a global supplier of products for the jewellery industry today. These refiners are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) against their Code of Practices (CoP) and Chain-of-Custody (CoC) standards for the supply of recycled precious metals.

“Is your recycled content metal certified?.”

— Our purchased gold bars come with CoC documentation stating 100% recycled content, while our fine silver is certified by SCS Global as 100% recycled content.
